Anonymous asked: Do you have a Facebook Fan page? If not, you should get one - you'd get a lot of fans.
There is a facebook like button on http://alyricaday.com/ no plans for a physical page
Anonymous asked: What kind of camera do you have? What are your recommendations when it comes to cameras and taking photos?
Well I recently bought a Canon E0S 550D (Shots: http://lkbrd.com/cnubcN) I could only recommend a camera based on what you want to shoot really.
Anonymous asked: what would you say is your most favorite 'lyric a day' design that you've done so far?
Off the top of my head.
Anonymous asked: What's your best advice for a beginning graphic design/student?
Hard question, even harder since I have never bee a student.
- Surround your self with like minded people or at least connect with people via the twitter/tumblr etc.
- Buy books, reference books. Lots of them.
- Try and create something or recreate something ever day.
- Don’t immerse your self to much.
Anonymous asked: What gave you the idea to start this project, how did it unfold?
I spent New Year’s Eve this year with my Father in Scotland – he literally lives miles from anywhere. As there is pretty much nothing but a huge Locke and fields for miles and miles, I had a lot of free time! Just me, iTunes and my Macbook… I had already spent some time trying to come up with an idea for an everyday project that could teach me a lot more about typography as that is something I had wanted to improve on greatly. Whilst in Scotland I had taken a bunch of photos (http://bit.ly/5lOe1H), and when editing them I started playing round with a few ideas to represent the song ‘JFC’ by The Acacia Strain. The hook “I am the end of the World” had been in my head all day, and that’s where #ALAD001 (http://bit.ly/c9CjA5) came from and subsequently, the project started.

hertzislandescapades asked: first of all; LOVE your project. I'm a sucker for good lyrics and the kind of pictures that you use. Anyway, will your pictures be able for download when you're finished with the project?
Thanks very much :) I may package them up, good idea.
I’m not entirely sure what will happen with all 365 just yet.
Anonymous asked: did you go to college for graphic design or web design?
I did a BTEC in ICT at collage. No formal education design at all really.
Anonymous asked: do you have any advice for using photoshop while designing [since that's what you said you use most of the time], specifically with fonts? I was discouraged from using photoshop with fonts.
I’m not an illustrator and I’m sure if I had been trained as one I would discourage you from using Photoshop too. Modern typography is very much a vector game imo.
The only tips I can give it are the following.
- Use ‘Crisp’ anti-aliasing
- Don’t load to many fonts into your operating system PS will try and read them all and just slow it’s self down. Use a font-management app were possible.
Rest really is just trail and error.
Anonymous asked: What's your profession? Are you a graphic designer by trade?
Profession wise I have been a web designer 9-5 for almost 3 years and graphic designer for the rest of the time.
